EAT OUT
Eat out is a great phrasal verb. It means going to a restaurant to have a meal (I love going out to eat!). When we eat out, we mean in a restaurant or possibly a café. We spend money when we eat out. Going to your friend’s house for a meal is not “eating out“.
- My partner and I eat out every Friday to save us from cooking.
- Eating out is getting less and less affordable as prices increase. I used to eat out a few times a week, but now I’ll only go to a restaurant for a special occasion.
EAT OUTSIDE
When we “eat outside” it’s simple, we are literally eating outside.
- ✅ on a picnic
- ✅ on our patio at home
- ✅ at a campsite
- ✅ a park
- On a beautiful day, I prefer to eat outside. I usually take my lunch with me and sit on a park bench.
- Eating outside is not my thing. I don’t understand why people enjoy it so much. Eating outside just attracts bugs!
- Waiter: Would you like to sit inside or outside today?
Guest: We’d like to eat inside today. It’s a bit too sunny outside for me.
Did you know, it is also possible to eat out AND eat outside at the same time.
