It’s important to have a large vocabulary if you want to become fluent in English. Whether you are trying to pass an exam, get a job, or just improve your English in general, adjectives are a MUST! So, in today’s blog we I have put together a list of 35 adjectives you must know to describe EMOTIONS.

Happy
noun: happiness
definition: showing pleasure and contentment

I just got a new job. I am so happy!

afraid/scared/frightened
noun: fear
definition:  you are worried about your health and safety because something is dangerous

I am afraid of spiders.

I’m so scared that someone is going to rob my house while I’m on holiday.

Sad
noun: sadness
definition: feeling unhappy

My grandma died. I am so sad.

Amused
noun: amusement
definition: you think something is funny/entertaining

The children were so amused while watching the dog chase the cat.

Bored
noun: boredom
definition: you are not happy because there is nothing interesting to do

I’ve been waiting for my train for 30 minutes. I am so bored.

Confident
noun: confidence
definition: you feel sure of yourself

My job interview went very well. I am confident that I will get the job.

Suspicious
noun: suspicion
definition: you think you cannot trust something

My boyfriend keeps working late. I’m a bit suspicious. There might be another woman.

Anxious

definition: you feel nervous and worried about something

I’m sceptical of horoscopes, but sometimes it’s creepy how accurate they are.
